It is with great sadness that Oklahoma Close Up observes the passing of Steve Janger. 

An Oklahoma native, Steve’s egalitarian vision of a fun, in-depth look at government from the inside that would be available to everyone, led to the creation of all that we call “Close Up”. His legacy continues today across all 50 states.

Oklahoma Close Up is a non-profit organization modeled after the Washington, D.C. based program, Close Up. The need to focus on state government with an in-depth experiential program was recognized and Oklahoma Close Up was established. This program gives students, educators, and policymakers the opportunity to come together to enhance the understanding of Oklahoma state government.
